"Wanna Get Involved?"
Attention Salisbury
Students:
Want to get involved on campus and in the local community?
Ever wonder who is behind planning Homecoming and the
Big Event and Earth Day and the Stop Hatin’ Campaign?
It’s the same group that recognizes clubs and student
organizations. It’s also the same group that any student
can go to with a problem they are having. Want to be
part of the student run organization that does all this
and more?
Join the Student Government Association, where students make
a difference and affect change every day! We are
currently accepting applications for Senators and
Freshmen Committee Members.
As a Senator, you will be required to hold one office hour
per week and attend a weekly Senate meeting with all of
the other Senators. You will also have the opportunity
to serve on a University Committee that has a direct
impact on the campus community and meets monthly. All
Senators will also be required to attend Forums, where
they will each have a vote in recognizing new clubs and
organizations. The average time commitment is 2 to 3
hours per week for the SGA Senate.
If you are a Freshman, there is a special leadership training
opportunity just for you! The SGA Freshmen Committee is
the only Leadership Training Program specifically for
Freshmen students that is run by students. One year on
this committee, and you will learn to be an effective
leader in any organization. As a member of the Freshmen
Committee, you will hold one office hour per week,
attend weekly Senate and Freshmen Committee meetings,
and work on a community service or university project as
a team.
Intrigued? Come to an interest meeting to find out more or
fill out one of the attached applications.
