Greig W. Mitchell, Vice President of Administration and
Finance, is a career-long professional in the field of higher
education finance and administrative operations. He joined the
management team at Salisbury University in March, 2004, as the
institution’s chief fiscal and business officer. Mr. Mitchell is
committed to public service and executive leadership in public
higher education. He has extensive experience, having previously
served as Vice President of Shippensburg University of
Pennsylvania and SUNY College at Brockport. State and system
level experience includes Mitchell serving as Vice Chancellor of
the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and as a
higher education staff person in the Pennsylvania Department of
Education. His professional activities include membership in the
National Association of College and University Business Officers
and the Society for College and University Planning.
Mitchell’s commitment to public service is further
evidenced by his long participation as an officer in the U.S.
Army and National Guard. Serving in a variety of assignments
over 30 years, he has assumed company and battalion command and
senior staff positions. In 2000 he ended his active
participation in the rank of Colonel, receiving the Legion of
Merit for exceptional service to the United States of America
and appointment as an Honorary Brigadier General of
Pennsylvania.
His educational credentials include a bachelor’s degree
from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a master’s in Public
Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, and a diploma
from the U.S. Army Strategic Leadership Program.
Mitchell resides with his wife Linda in Salisbury. Linda
is a Nationally Certified Counselor serving as a learning
support specialist at Crisfield High School, Somerset County,
Maryland.
