Lifts Sea Gulls Past Seahawks Junior Kate Weaver scored two second half goals off assists from Alley Olewine and Kelli Salter to give the Sea Gulls their fourth conference win in their last five outings. Salisbury (6-5-1, CAC 4-2) trailed 1-0 at halftime, despite out-shooting the Seahawks (7-4-1, CAC 3-2) by four shots. St. Mary’s midfielder Taylor Cervenka scored the lone first half goal off an assists from Sarah Grady. The Sea Gulls were able to get seven shots off in each half to outshoot the Seahawks, 14-6, for the game. Salisbury also held the advantage in corner kicks, 3-1. Goalie Samantha Phipps finished with two saves, while St. Mary’s goalie Marie Oben made four saves. Today’s win snaps Salisbury’s two game skid against St. Mary’s and improves the Sea Gulls overall record against the Seahawks to 14-3-3. Salisbury will return to action next Saturday, October 21, as they travel to Baltimore, Md. to face Goucher College in a Capital Athletic Conference match. | ||||||||||||||||
