Salisbury completes season sweep of Goucher in OT
SALISBURY, Md.
- The Salisbury University women's basketball team swept the season series against Capital Athletic Conference foe Goucher College for the third straight season on Wednesday evening with an 81-70 overtime win at the Maggs center.

SU senior forward Jessica Mills took control in overtime as she scored eight points and nailed clutch free throws down the stretch going 6-for-6 in the extra frame. Mills was a prefect 10-for-10 for the game from the charity stripe as she finished with a team-high 24 points.

The Sea Gulls (11-8, 5-4 CAC) led by as many as 12 points in the second half but the Gophers (3-15, 1-9 CAC) fought back and used a Shadae Swan three-pointer with one minute reaming to send the game into overtime.

Salisbury's defense held the Gophers to a mere three points and eight percent shooting (1-for-13) in overtime.

Meghan Phillips added 17 points for the Sea Gulls while Marissa Manzo came off the bench to score 20 points.

As a team, the Sea Gulls shot 89 percent from the foul line (24-for-27).

For the 41st consecutive game Swan scored in double-figures as she finished with a game-high 29 points, grabbed eight rebounds and added five assists to pace Goucher.

The Sea Gulls return to action on Saturday, February 3, as they host Capital Athletic Conference opponent Gallaudet University at 5:30 p.m. Salisbury defeated the Bison earlier this season 67-45 on December 9, 2006.
