Salisbury, Md - Senior Amber Stansbury scored five goals and senior Jessica White had four goals to lead #4 ranked Salisbury to a 21-9 Capital Athletic Conference victory over visiting Goucher.  The Sea Gulls improve to 5-1 overall (3-0 CAC), while Goucher falls to 4-3 (0-1 CAC).

Leading 4-3 midway through the first half, Salisbury outscored Goucher 7-1 over the final 13:59 to build an 11-4 halftime advantage. Stansbury and White each scored twice during that run for the Sea Gulls.

Salisbury scored three of the first four goals of the second half, including back-to-back markers by sophomore Jessica Wirth, to extend the lead to 14-5 with 19:14 remaining. Consecutive goals by Goucher’s Ashley Snyder pulled the Gophers to within 14-7 with 16:53 left, but Salisbury closed the contest by outscoring GC 7-2 the rest of the way.

Junior Linda Ackermann finished with three goals and three assists for the Sea Gulls, and sophomore Lynsey Bateman added two goals and a game-high four assists.

Snyder led Goucher with three goals, while senior Lori Petruzzi and freshman Whitmey Groseclose added two goals apiece.
