Salisbury ranked No. 3 in preseason poll
BALTIMORE –
For a second straight year the Salisbury University women's lacrosse program was selected No. 3 in the Lacrosse magazine 2008 Division III preseason poll released in its January issue.

Salisbury was a national finalist last season as the Sea Gulls compiled a 21-2 record as the maroon and gold fell 11-8 to Franklin & Marshall in the championship game.

There are five preseason top 20 teams on Salisbury's 2008 schedule. The Sea Gulls and No. 1 F&M will meet in Salisbury, Md., on March 29 in a rematch of last year's national championship game. SU will host No. 14 SUNY Cortland on March 15 followed by a March 22 date with No. 20 Roanoke. SU will close out its regular-season schedule with back-to-back road trips to No. 2 The College of New Jersey and No. 18 Mary Washington.

Salisbury will open its season on Saturday, February 16, as the Sea Gulls host Capital Athletic Conference opponent Hood College at 3 p.m. in Sea Gull Stadium.
