Salisbury ranked No. 3 in
preseason poll
BALTIMORE – For a second straight year the Salisbury University
women's lacrosse program was selected No. 3 in the Lacrosse magazine 2008
Division III preseason poll released in its January issue.
Salisbury was a national
finalist last season as the Sea Gulls compiled a 21-2 record as the maroon and
gold fell 11-8 to Franklin & Marshall in the championship game.
There are five preseason
top 20 teams on Salisbury's 2008 schedule. The Sea Gulls and No. 1 F&M will meet
in Salisbury, Md., on March 29 in a rematch of last year's national championship
game. SU will host No. 14 SUNY Cortland on March 15 followed by a March 22 date
with No. 20 Roanoke. SU will close out its regular-season schedule with
back-to-back road trips to No. 2 The College of New Jersey and No. 18 Mary
Washington.
Salisbury will open its season on Saturday, February 16, as the Sea
Gulls host Capital Athletic Conference opponent Hood College at 3 p.m. in Sea
Gull Stadium.
