represented on Inside Lacrosse and WomensLacrosse.com All-American teams Juniors Sue Ackermann and Kelly Phillips were named to the first team by both publications. Phillips was also named the Inside Lacrosse Defender of the Year as she anchored one of the top defenses in the country. The Massapequa Park, N.Y. native was second on the team with 39 ground balls and caused 15 turnovers on the nationally ranked defense which only allowed 6.83 goals per game. Phillips adds these honors to her impressive 2007 resume which includes IWLCA first team All-American, IWLCA Chesapeake Region first team and All-CAC first team. Ackermann, the 2007 Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year, led the nation's third ranked offense with 119 points (51 goals, 68 assists) and also scooped up 25 ground balls. The Sykesville, Md. native has already been named to the IWLCA All-American first team, the IWLCA Chesapeake Region first team and the All-CAC first team this season. Senior midfielder Katie Simmons was named to the Inside Lacrosse first team while she was selected to the WomensLacrosse.com second team. The Silver Spring, Md. native was the best scoring threat out of the midfield for Salisbury as she finished her senior year with 35 goals and nine assists. Simmons has also been named to the IWLCA All-American first team, IWLCA Chesapeake Region first team and was an All-CAC first team selection. Senior Stephanie Shores was named to the Inside Lacrosse third team. The Glen Burnie, Md. native led SU in goals with 59 and ranked third on the team with 16 assists. The attacker has also been named to the IWLCA All-American third team, the IWLCA Chesapeake Region first team and was an All-CAC second team selection. Sophomore midfielder Robyn Bishop received the 2007 WomensLacrosse.com Unsung Hero of the Year award for Division III. The Columbia, Md. native scored 24 goals and two assists and took the majority of Salisbury’s draw controls where she won a team best 59. Bishop also scooped up a team-high 44 ground balls. SU Director of Sports Information Sam Atkinson was the recipient of the 2007 Inside Lacrosse Division III Women's Lacrosse Media Service Award.
