Wesley no match for Salisbury
DOVER, Del. –
The Salisbury University volleyball team welcomed Rt. 13 rival Wesley College to the Capital Athletic Conference on Wednesday night with a 3-0 straight set victory. The Sea Gulls made quick work of the Wolverines as the maroon and gold won 30-16, 30-16, 30-22.

Junior setter Jaime Marzocchi made 33 assists and sophomore Rachel Downes made nine kills and 11 digs in the victory for SU. Sophomore Gabby Long led the team with 17 digs and freshman Kathleen Cinelli recorded a team-high 12 kills.

The loss snapped Wesley's three-match winning streak. This is the first-year for Wesley (3-5, 0-1 CAC) in the CAC. Salisbury is now 9-5 for the season and 2-0 in the conference.

SU will host a two-day invitational this weekend at the Maggs Center as the Sea Gulls welcome Gettysburg College, Johns Hopkins University, New Jersey City University and The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey to the Eastern Shore. Play begins on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. with SU against Hopkins for the third time this season.
