SU to host CAC championship with win over York, loss by Gallaudet
SALISBURY, Md.
- The Salisbury University volleyball team advanced to the Capital Athletic Conference championship game after it swept York (Pa.) College by the score of 30-22, 30-25, 30-22 on Thursday night in the Maggs Center before a crowd of 350. The second-seed Sea Gulls are now 10-1 overall against CAC opponents this season.

Thanks to the upset by fourth-seed St. Mary's (Md.) College over top-seed Gallaudet University, 3-1, in the other CAC semifinal the Sea Gulls will now host the CAC title game on Saturday evening. The Sea Gulls and Seahawks will meet at 6 p.m. in the Maggs Center this Saturday (November 3). This will be the first appearance in the title game for the Gulls since 2004 when SU defeated former CAC member Catholic University of America to claim its third conference crown. The winner of the CAC will receive an automatic bid into the 2007 NCAA Division III tournament.

The Sea Gulls never trailed in the first two sets as the maroon and gold pelted the third-seed Spartans with a relentless offensive attack. SU had 45 kills in the match on 131 attempts (.344) led by junior Stacey Krebs (15 kills, five digs) and sophomore Nicole Massarelli (10 kills, three digs).

Set three was much of the same as junior Jaime Marzocchi continued to strive on offense with a team-high 35 assists, 10 digs, six kills and three service aces. Sophomore Gabby Long led the team with 17 digs and three service aces.
