The
Salisbury University men's and women's swimming team have consistently ranked as
a top team in the Capital Athletic Conference as they have achieved over 100
team records since 1995. The SU men's team finished a program best third place
in the 2007 CAC championships. The 2001 season saw the Sea Gulls earn the CAC
Male Swimmer of the Year, CAC Female Swimmer of the Year and CAC Women's Coach
of the Year. The women's team has posted four winning seasons in the last seven years and
the men finished a team best 5-2 in the CAC in 2002.
SU men's swimming takes down St. Mary's, women fall short
ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. -
The Salisbury University men's swimming team won a pivotal Capital Athletic
Conference meet Saturday afternoon on the road at St. Mary's (Md.) College. The
Sea Gull men (6-4, 4-2 CAC) won seven of the 11 events to defeat the Seahawks,
127-78. This is the fourth straight win for the SU men's team. The victory pushes
the maroon and gold into a tie for third-place in the CAC with York (Pa.)
College.
Salisbury's women's team
(5-5, 3-3 CAC) lost 120-85 as the Seahawks (4-3, 2-2 CAC) won nine of the 11
events. The two teams now stand at .500 in conference competition and sit behind
Marymount (Va.) and Mary Washington, respectively.
