Armiger, Berkman earn ECAC Player of the Week honors
CENTREVILLE, Mass.
– Salisbury University junior baseball student-athlete Justin Armiger
(Brandywine, Md.) and sophomore men’s lacrosse student-athlete Kylor
Berkman (Salisbury, Md.) have been named ECAC Division III South Players of
the Week for their respective sports in an announcement made by the conference
on Wednesday. It is the first time this spring season that any Sea Gull has
earned ECAC honors. The two Sea Gulls were named Capital Athletic Conference
Players of the Week on Monday.
Armiger was awarded ECAC
Division III Southern Player of the Week for his efforts last week for the Sea
Gulls. The junior batted .667, knocked in eight RBIs, scored six runs and hit a
double and a triple in three straight games. In the final spring break game in
Fort Meyers, Fla., the designated hitter went 5-for-5 in a 17-2 victory over
Hillsdale. On the season, Armiger is hitting .382 with 19 RBIs and is tied for
the team-high in triples with four.
Berkman was awarded ECAC
Division III Southern Offensive Player of the Week. The midfielder scored seven
points last week in a CAC game where he netted four goals and handed out three
assists in a 26-1 victory over Hood College. The sophomore has notched 35 points
(14 goals, 21 assists) on the season and leads the team in assists.
