Four Sea Gulls make softball All-Region teams
STARKVILLE, Miss. -
The Salisbury University softball team, the 2007 Capital Athletic Conference champions, placed four players on the 2007 Louisville Slugger/National Fast Pitch Coaches Association Division III Atlantic Region teams.

The Sea Gulls earned three first team honors headed by CAC Player and Rookie of the Year shortstop Kelly Waskewicz (Olney, Md.). The freshman is hitting .451 with 58 runs, 65 hits, 13 doubles, 17 home runs, 49 RBIs, 135 total bases and a .938 slugging percentage. Waskewicz leads the team in nine offensive categories. Freshman first baseman Ali Ritter (Belvidere, N.J.) and sophomore utility player Stacey Malarkey (Taneytown, Md.) joined Waskewicz on the first team. Ritter leads the team with a .495 batting average and has added 11 doubles, four home runs and 32 RBIs. Malarkey is hitting .353 and is second on the team in RBIs (43), home runs (11) and total bases (87).

Senior Nichole Fuqua (Rockville, Md.) was named to the Atlantic Region second team. The second baseman has started all 43 games for SU and has batted at a .418 clip with seven doubles, three triples, five home runs and 41 RBIs.
