Six Sea Gulls Earn All-CAC Men's Soccer Honors

Senior midfielder Dan Lader (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright HS) - pictured - was named the Capital Athletic Conference's 2004 Player of the Year and is one of five Sea Gulls named to the conference's 11-player first team, announced Tuesday.

Lader is joined on the All-CAC first team by junior forward Chris Mills (Hagerstown, MD/South Hagerstown HS), senior back Markus Hunkeler (Damascus, MD/Damascus HS), junior goalie Jason Cranford (Chesapeake Beach, MD/Calvert HS) and junior midfielder Tim Lane (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial HS). Junior forward Bill Whittington (Towson, MD/Potomac Falls (Va) HS) was named to the All-CAC second team.

Salisbury Head Coach Gerry DiBartolo has also been selected by his peers as the CAC's 2004 Coach of the Year, winning the award for the fourth time in his career.

Salisbury, 18-0-2 overall and ranked third in the nation in NCAA Division III, claimed the Capital Athletic Conference's automatic bid for the NCAA Tournament with a 1-0 win over York in the CAC Championship Game on Saturday. The CAC title is SU's fifth in six years.

The Sea Gulls begin play in the 44-team NCAA Championship Tournament at home Saturday against either Roanoke (Va) College or Arcadia (Pa) University.
