King (Jason Smith) Shots: Gallaudet 1, Salisbury 47 Saves: Gallaudet 14 (Daniel Wathen 14), Salisbury 1 (Scott McGuire 1) Capital Athletic Conference match Sea Gulls ranked #6 in NSCAA national poll Salisbury junior forward Chris Mills scored three times as the Sea Gulls out shot Gallaudet 47-1 in a 7-0 victory over the Bison Tuesday at the SU Athletics Complex. The Gulls, who leaped from #13 to #6 in this week's NSCAA/adidas Division III poll, improved to 6-0-1 on the season and 1-0 in Capital Athletic Conference action. SU is now the top-ranked team in the South Region. Gallaudet fell to 0-7 overall, 0-3 in the CAC. Mills, along with junior Reid Klopp and sophomore Michael Walker, each scored once in the first half as the Sea Gulls had the upperhand of 24-0 shooting while building a 3-0 advantage. Senior Dan Lader assisted on Klopp's goal. Mills then scored twice within the first 4:28 of the second half as Salisbury moved out to a 5-0 advantage. Junior Bill Whittington and junior David Pusinsky had assists in the run. Whittington scored a goal of his own at the 52:23 mark and junior J.J. King scored the game's final goal on a pass from sophomore Jason Smith at 59:54. Salisbury junior Jason Cranford worked the first half in the Sea Gull net and received the shared shutout. Sophomore Scott McGuire and freshman Matt Blue also saw action in the second half. Gallaudet junior Daniel Wathen went the distance and took the loss in goal. He recorded 14 saves. Salisbury will return to action Saturday when the Gulls travel
to Rocky Mount, NC, to battle North Carolina Wesleyan. The next home action will
be Sept. 29 when they host CAC opponent St. Mary's at 4 p.m.
