Muto, Meehan, Olsson Earn CoSIDA Academic Honors

December 1, 2003
Seniors John Muto (pictured at left) and Dan Meehan have both
earned a spot on CoSIDA's National Academic All-America soccer team. Meehan, a
senior Business Management major with a 3.95 grade point average, was one of 11
student-athletes named to the national first team. Muto, a senior
Information Systems Management major with a 3.96 gpa, was named to the national
second team. Both were among 11
players selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 team announced last
month, and thus eligible for consideration to the national squad as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Meehan and Muto helped lead the Sea Gulls to a 16-3-3 final record in 2003
and a berth in the NCAA Tournament's national quarterfinals.
The Sea Gulls were also one of 72 men's intercollegiate teams to receive
academic honors by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The Gulls
finished with a cumulative grade-point average of over 3.0 for the 2002-03
academic year to qualify for the NSCAA Team Academic honor. Click

In addition, senior back Dana Olsson of the women's soccer team was
selected to CoSIDA's 2003 Academic District 2 women's soccer second team. Ollson, an
elementary education major, has a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
The District 2 squad represents all non-Division I colleges and universities in
Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of
Columbia.
