Three Sea Gulls selected to the All-CAC first team
SALSIBURY, Md. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced the 2006 Men's Soccer All-Conference teams this week and Salisbury University had three players named to the first team. Senior captains Wijy Jones
and T.J. Nairn make their first appearance along with junior David Kroening. In 12 seasons, the SU men's soccer program has been honored with 64 All-CAC players and seven CAC Player of the Year awards, a streak of three straight that was broken this year.

First-team forward Jones tied for the team lead in goals with nine. He also led the team in shots and shots on goal. Jones has 45 career points (17 goals, 11 assists). At the end of the season the senior co-captain scored a goal in six straight games except the last game, a 2-0 CAC semifinal loss to York. The Millersville, Md. native, scored goals against Mary Washington, Roanoke, Christopher Newport, Hood and back-to-back games against Marymount during the impressive streak.

First-team midfielder Kroening contributed two goals and three assists on the year. The junior from Rochester, N.Y. started all 17 games this year for the Sea Gulls.

First-team defender Nairn had a career best three goals on the year, two of which were penalty kick goals. The senior co-captain was the anchor of a defense that recorded six shut outs (second best in the CAC). The defense was also second in the CAC in goals against average (1.12 goals per game). The Bowie, Md. native, was also a 17-game starter a year ago on a defense that recorded 13 shutouts and was ranked 7th in the nation in goals against.
