Palmer named CAC Men's Basketball Co-Athlete of the Week
NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. -
The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly conference athlete of the week awards and Salisbury University sophomore guard Greg Palmer (Salisbury, Md./Salisbury Christian) was named the men's basketball co-recipient for the week of January 21. Palmer shares the award with St. Mary's (Md.) College senior guard Tyson Lesesne.

Palmer scored a career-high 27 points in Salisbury's 72-70 victory over CAC foe Marymount (Va.) University last Saturday at home. The win snapped SU's 12-game losing streak. For the week Palmer averaged 20 points and five rebounds in two games. He also made four blocks in the win over the Saints and passed out three assists.

The Salisbury, Md., native was also named to the PrestoSports/Pride of Maryland Honor Roll for the week of January 14-20.

For the season, Palmer leads the Sea Gulls in scoring with a 16.1 points per game average. In 15 games the sophomore has scored 241 points. He is second on the team in rebounds (68) and blocked shots (seven) and third in assists (24).

Palmer is the first SU men's basketball student-athlete to earn CAC Athlete of the Week honors this season.

Salisbury (3-13, 1-6 CAC) returns to action tomorrow evening as the Sea Gulls host the CAC's top team, Hood College (12-4, 6-1 CAC), at 7:30 p.m.
