BOX SCORE
Salisbury, MD - Junior fullback Leroy Satchell rushed for a career-high 229 yards and two touchdowns to lead 12th-ranked Salisbury to a 44-0 non-conference victory over Kean before 3,263 fans on Homecoming Day at Sea Gull Stadium.  Salisbury improves to 7-0 overall, while Kean falls to 2-5.

Satchell (pictured) scored on runs of six- and 56-yards in the opening quarter to give Salisbury the early lead. Junior QB Dustin Johnson’s nine-yard touchdown run with 2:13 remaining in the opening quarter capped a four-play, 97-yard drive and pushed the advantage to 21-0. Satchell finished with 157 yards rushing in the first quarter alone.

Salisbury added two more scores in the second quarter as freshman WR Chris Newton scored on a one-yard end around at 9:08 of the quarter, then added a one-yard touchdown reception from Johnson (5-of-7 passing, 35 yards) with 1:02 remaining before halftime.

Junior DE James Monk added to the Sea Gull lead at 9:55 of the third quarter, recording a safety to push the lead to 37-0. Junior RB Anthony Johnson’s five-yard run capped an 80-yard drive and closed out the scoring with 1:03 left in the third quarter.

Salisbury finished with 456 yards rushing and 509 total yards. Satchell registered Salisbury’s first 200-yard rushing performance since Tony Ellis ran for 241 yards against Shenandoah during the 2000 season.

The Salisbury defense limited Kean to 107 total yards, including just 11 yards rushing. The Gulls recorded a season-high of eight sacks (-63 yards) and recorded their first shutout since blanking Kean 21-0 last year.

Senior LB Brad Dehaven led the defense with seven tackles. Sophomore LB Michael Hatcher recorded three of the team’s eight sacks, while freshman DE Joe Galloway added two sacks and a team-high four tackles for loss.

For Kean, freshman QB A.J. Roque completed eight-of-26 passes for 96 yards, while junior WR Jasonus Tillery made four catches for 67 yards.

The Sea Gulls have an open date on the schedule next week before returning to Atlantic Central Football Conference action at home on October 30 against Wesley.
