SALISBURY, Md. -
The Atlantic Central Football Conference announced the 2006 all-conference teams on Thursday afternoon and the Salisbury University Sea Gulls had 10 players named to the various teams. Senior co-captain Byron Westbrook was named to the first team defense at defensive back and first team special teams as a return specialist while fellow senior co-captain Billy Leinemann garnered first team honors at linebacker.

This is the third straight year that Westbrook has earned first team defense honors and the second time in three years that he earned first team special teams honors. This year the Ft. Washington, Md. native led the conference in interceptions with five and averaged a league’s best 22.7 yards per return on kickoffs, highlighted by an 83-yard touchdown return. Westbrook totaled 28 tackles on the season and had four pass breakups. He was a second team all-conference return specialist in 2005.

Leinemann grabbed first team defense honors for the first-time in his career as he totaled 40 tackles, three sacks for a loss of 11 yards and a team best seven and a half tackles for a loss of 23 yards. The Ocean City, Md. native was named to the second team defense in 2005.

Senior co-captains Kristos Miliotis and Zach Armiger received second team honors along with seniors Tim Metzger and Anthony Johnson and junior Brendan Kincaid.

Miliotis and Metzger helped to open the holes for the No. 1 ranked rushing offense in the conference. The Sea Gulls averaged 222.3 yards on the ground per contest and scored 21 times.

Armiger is making his second straight appearance on the second team defense. The Parkton, Md. native totaled 32 tackles on the year, six tackles for loss for a total 27 yards and a team high four sacks for a loss 21 yards.

Johnson and Kincaid are both first time selections to the all-conference team. Johnson moved from slot to superback where he has gained 333 yards rushing and added 2 touchdowns. Kincaid is 20-20 of extra points, 9-13 on fields and has hit a long of 44 yards.

Sophomore quarterback Ronnie Curley and junior defensive lineman Joe Galloway were honorable mention selections.

Wesley College had 16 players named to the All-ACFC team. Frostburg State was second with 14 selections followed by the Apprentice School with 12. SUNY Brockport was honored with eight of its own selections.
