Gooch
named ACFC Rookie of the Week
SALISBURY, Md. –
Salisbury University football defensive back Reggie Gooch was named
Atlantic Central Football Conference Co-Rookie of the Week for his performance
against the Apprentice School this past Saturday on the road.
Gooch
tied for the team high of six total tackles (four solo, two assisted) and had
one interception that he returned for 13 yards in his first start for the Sea
Gulls this season. The freshman was part of the SU defense that shutout the
Shipbuilders, 25-0.
SUNY
Brockport freshman linebacker Garrett Axtell shared the ACFC Rookie of the Week
honor with Gooch.
Three SU
players were also named to the ACFC honor roll they are; sophomore quarterback
Ronnie Curley (offense), senior linebacker Michael Hatcher
(defense) and junior kicker Brendan Kincaid (special teams).
Salisbury
will be off this weekend before hosting SUNY Morrisville at 1 p.m., Saturday,
October 14, for Homecoming and Family Day at Sea Gull Stadium.
