Burgess
named ACFC Special Teams Player of the Week
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Garrett Burgess
was named Atlantic Central Football Conference Co-Special Teams Player of the
Week for his play against Geneva College in Salisbury’s 20-7 win over the Golden
Tornadoes last Saturday evening.
The
sophomore from Beach Haven, N.J., returned four punts for 61 yards which
includes a long of 31 yards in the first half. He also finished second on the
team in all-purpose yards.
Juniors
Ronnie Curley and Matthew Bookard each received honorable mention
ACFC Players of the Week for offense and defense, respectively. Curley was the
team’s leading rusher as he ran for 141 yards on 29 carries and a pair of
scores. Bookard finished the game with a team-high 10 tackles which includes one
tackle for loss.
The Sea
Gulls will look to remain perfect on the year as they travel to Morrisville,
N.Y., to face Morrisville State College on Saturday, October 13, at 1 p.m.
