Two Coaches Approach 250-Win Milestones
Two members of the Sea Gull coaching staff are quickly approaching milestone victories in their careers. Head Coach Dawn Chamberlin of the field hockey team needs one more win to reach 250 in her career. Her first chance at reaching the milestone comes Thursday at Goucher. Gerry DiBartolo of the men’s soccer team is also fast approaching the 250-win plateau. DiBartolo needs two victories to reach the mark, and could do it this week with wins against St. Mary’s Wednesday and Greensboro on Saturday. Both of those contests are at home.

Powell is Player of the Week
Sophomore forward Megan Powell (Elkton, MD/Rising Sun HS) of the field hockey team has been selected as this week’s Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her role in SU’s two victories. Powell tallied two goals in last week’s 5-0 victory over McDaniel, then added two goals and one assist in Saturday’s 5-2 win over York. Powell is third in scoring for the Sea Gulls this season, with seven goals, two assists and 16 points through eight games.

Field Hockey Streak Continues
With an 8-0 start this season, the Sea Gulls have now extended their two-year winning streak to 19 straight games, second longest in team history. The team record of 26 straight wins was established during the 1986 and 1987 seasons. Salisbury won its final 11 games of the 2003 season en route to capturing the NCAA Division III national championship.

Football Moves Into AFCA Top 25 Poll
Coming on the heels of last week’s 54-20 victory over Greensboro, the 4-0 Sea Gull football team has cracked the Division III Top 25 poll, released by the American Football Coaches Association. The Gulls move into the poll at #19 this week after being listed as the top team “also receiving votes “ last week.  The Gulls are also ranked #23 in this week’s d3football.com poll.

Men's Soccer Earns Highest-Ever Ranking
The Sea Gulls have climbed to #3 in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll, the highest ranking in team history. The previous best was #6, achieved during the 2002 season and again in last week's NSCAA poll. Salisbury, 7-0-1 overall and one of nine undefeated teams in this week's poll, returns to action at home vs. St. Mary's on Wednesday.

Rementer Earns All-Tournament Volleyball
Senior defensive specialist Kim Rementer (Denton, MD/North Caroline HS) earned a spot on the seven-person all-tournament team following last week’s Salisbury Invitational. Rementer finished with a team-leading 72 digs in four matches, while adding four service aces. She leads the team with 319 digs (4.6 per game) this season and is second with 24 service aces.

Weaver Scores Three Against Gallaudet
Freshman forward Kate Weaver (Abingdon, MD/Edgewood HS) of the women’s soccer team joined an exclusive circle of players with last week’s three-goal performance against Gallaudet. Weaver, playing just her seventh collegiate game, became the 14th Sea Gull in the program’s 11-year history to register at least three goals in a contest.
