Salisbury earns three spots on All-South Region first team
SALISBURY, Md. – The National Field Hockey
Coaches Association released the 2006 Division III All-Region team and three
Salisbury University players, seniors Megan Powell and Tracey Lloyd and junior Danielle Twilley,
were selected to the All-South Region first team. The trio of co-captains was
named to the Capital Athletic Conference first team earlier in the month.
Powell
ended the season as Salisbury's leading goal and point scorer en route to being
named the 2006 CAC Player of the Year. The Elkton, Md. native finished a
tremendous statistical season with 26 goals and 11 assists. The Salisbury
forward is making her third straight appearance on the All-South Region team.
Twilley
earned her first All-South Region selection. The Delmar, Del. native is the only
Sea Gull All-Region selection returning in 2007. She had four goals and six
assists this season in addition to her defensive contributions.
Lloyd, a
two-time All-American, received All-South Region first team honors for the third
consecutive year. The Delmar, Md. native finished her 2006 campaign with four
goals, seven assists and countless forced turnovers.
The 2006
NFHCA All-American selections will be announced on Monday, November 20.
