SU drops two spots in recent poll
SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University field hockey team dropped two
spots to No. 4 in the STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll
released on Tuesday, October 3.
The Sea
Gulls (9-2) received three first-place votes and accumulated 866 points. The
College of New Jersey is the new No. 1 team in Division III as it received 22
first-place votes and totaled 1,031 total points.
Salisbury
lost back-to-back games for the first time since 1999 this past week as the Sea
Gulls dropped two tough road games. No. 9 Rowan defeated the Gulls last Tuesday,
September 26, with a 2-1 victory. Second-ranked Salisbury then lost 1-0 to then
top-ranked Messiah on Saturday, September 30.
The Sea
Gulls will next host Catholic University in a Capital Athletic Conference game
at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 4.
