Salisbury to open CAC tournament against Goucher
SALISBURY, Md. –
The Salisbury University field hockey team will open up the 2006 Capital Athletic Conference tournament this Sunday, October 29 at home against Goucher College. The Sea Gulls (13-3, 5-1 CAC) are the second-seed in the tournament behind Catholic University, who defeated Salisbury 1-0 on October 4.

Salisbury field hockey goalie Maria Ramoundos makes the saveSalisbury, ranked sixth in the country, has won every CAC championships (11 total) since it entered the conference in 1995.

SU defeated Goucher 11-0 on the road two weeks ago (October 10) in the Sea Gulls' first game after the Catholic loss.

Goucher (1-12, 0-6 CAC) enters tournament play having lost nine straight and is the No. 7 seed in the seven team tournament.

The winner of the Salisbury-Goucher game will face the winner of the St. Mary's (Md.)-Villa Julie game on Wednesday, November 1 at the site of the higher seed.
