Salisbury to open CAC tournament against Goucher
SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University field hockey team will open up the 2006 Capital Athletic Conference tournament this Sunday, October 29 at home against Goucher College. The Sea Gulls (13-3, 5-1 CAC) are the second-seed in the tournament behind Catholic University, who defeated Salisbury 1-0 on October 4.

Salisbury, ranked sixth in the country, has won every CAC championships (11 total) since it entered the conference in 1995.

SU defeated Goucher 11-0 on the road two weeks ago (October 10) in the Sea Gulls' first game after the Catholic loss.

Goucher (1-12, 0-6 CAC) enters tournament play having lost nine straight and is the No. 7 seed in the seven team tournament.

The winner of the Salisbury-Goucher game will face the winner of the St. Mary's (Md.)-Villa Julie game on Wednesday, November 1 at the site of the higher seed.
