cool off Salisbury, 3-1 Salisbury (22-4, 5-2 in CAC) ended its six-game winning streak and suffered its first loss in conference since a 5-1 setback at Catholic University on March 14. York (Pa.) pitcher Tim Frisch (4-0) pitched eight innings and allowed one earned run on seven hits as he struck out four batters. Chris Brower closed out the game for the Spartans to earn the save. SU junior pitcher Ryan Bennick (6-1) suffered his first loss of the season as he gave up three runs, two earned, over six innings of work as he struck out seven Spartans. York scored first in the second inning when catcher Mike Santoro singled home freshman Anthony Anzalone. YCP shortstop Jeff Young followed in the third inning with a solo home run to put the Spartans (18-5, 5-1 CAC) up 2-0. Salisbury got on the board in the seventh inning when senior Andrew Jensen doubled home junior Brian Camper. York tacked on an additional run in the bottom half of the seventh. Camper (2-for-4) and junior Randy Boyle (2-for-5) were the only two Sea Gull batters to have multiple hits in the loss. This is the first time Salisbury has lost to York (Pa.) in a year as the Spartans beat the visiting Gulls 12-6 on April 1, 2006. The Sea Gulls will get a second chance against York (Pa.) this weekend when they host the Spartans at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 7 to complete the home-and-home series.
