Salisbury makes eighth consecutive postseason appearance
INDIANAPOLIS
The No. 10 Salisbury University baseball team, ranked second in the South Region, will be making the program’s eighth consecutive NCAA Division III tournament appearance (13th overall) as the field was announced Monday. The Sea Gulls will participate in the Ferrum College Regional which is set to begin on Wednesday, May 16.

Second-seeded Salisbury, the Capital Athletic Conference champions, is joined by conference foe York (Pa.) in the regional where the Spartans are the third seed.

SU recorded the program’s seventh season in the past eight years where it has won at least 30-games and won its second straight CAC title (seventh overall). Salisbury will carry a 32-8 record into tournament play and are winners of 10 of its last 11 games.

This season Salisbury is 6-3 against teams that made the 53-team NCAA tournament field which includes a 5-2 mark against schools in the Ferrum Regional.

Emory earned the top seed in the Ferrum Regional, followed by Salisbury, York (Pa.), Methodist, Bridgewater (Va.), Ferrum and Villa Julie.

The Sea Gulls went 1-2 in the NCAA tournament last season and last advanced to the Division III World Series in 2004 where they finished seventh.
