Trick! Weaver nets 3 goals in win
SALISBURY, Md. – The
Salisbury University women’s soccer team won its second consecutive Capital
Athletic Conference game Tuesday afternoon with a 6-0 shutout over Marymount
University at the SU Soccer Complex.
SU
forward Kate Weaver led the way for the Sea Gulls offensively as she
netted a hat trick. The junior scored the game’s lone first half goal off an
assist by Ally Olewine before she added two more scores within the first
11 minutes of the second half to give Salisbury a 3-0 lead.
The Sea
Gulls (5-5-1, CAC 3-2) continued their barrage of second half offense as Olewine
found Dana Passucci in the 60th minute followed by Amanda Pizzillo’s
mark off a feed from Christina Eury in the 77th minute. Sophomore
Sam Asch added an unassisted goal in the 86th minute to cap the 6-0
Salisbury victory.
Samantha Phipps (no
saves) started the game in net for Salisbury but it was Kristin Greene
who made five saves in the second half to preserve the shutout.

Gulls outshot the Saints, 22-7, despite Marymount (5-7-1, CAC 1-3) winning the
battle of corner kicks, 7-2.
