named CAC Coach of the Year, 3 Gulls on All-CAC teams Weaver was the leader of the Sea Gull offense all season as she netted a conference best 20 goals in 17 games, averaging 1.18 goals a game and 2.47 points a game, also conference bests. Twice the Abingdon, Md. native was named CAC Player of the Week and seven times this season she has registered multi-goal games. Her 42 points on the year ranked second in the CAC. The Sea Gull defense was led by Day, who moved from forward to defense at the beginning of the year. The Beltsville, Md. native led a squad that ranked second in the conference in goals against average (1.03 a game) and goals allowed (18). The defense also recorded eight shutouts. After transferring from New Hampshire University, Bishop, also a member of the women’s lacrosse team, scored four goals from the midfield position. The Columbia, Md. native put 14 shots on goal and scored the game-winning goal against Catholic in the CAC semifinals. Four times prior to this season Nestor has garnered CAC Coach of the Year honors but never before in women's soccer. The 2003, '04, '05 and '06 CAC women's lacrosse CAC Coach of the Year was named by his peers as the CAC women's soccer coach of the year for the first time in his six seasons at Salisbury. The Sea Gulls won the Capital Athletic Conference crown and received an automatic bid to the 2006 NCAA Division III women's soccer tournament where they will face No. 8 Johns Hopkins University in the opening round game from Captains Field on the campus of Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va. at 5 p.m., Saturday, November 11. • 2006 All-CAC Women's Soccer Teams (PDF)
