Women’s 4x400 relay set new school record at Penn Relays
PHILADELPHIA
– Select members of the Salisbury University track & field team participated in the 113th Penn Relay's last week at the historic Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.

The SU women's 4x400 meter relay team set a new school record with a third place finish in their heat. Alicia Canzanese, Casey McInerny, Jenn Bulger and Victoria Lawson broke their own record set back on March 31 at the Maryland Terrapin Invitational by finishing with a time of 4:02.39. The previous record was 4:03.83.

Sophomore Kelly Sullivan continued to perform at a national level as she finished third in the 3000 meter steeplechase with another NCAA provisional mark of 10:57.01. Sullivan was less than a second off her school and conference record (10:56.74) pace set at the Capital Athletic Conference championships. Sullivan beat competition from schools such as Michigan, Georgetown, William & Mary, Wake Forest, James Madison and Boston College.

Bulger finished ninth in her first heptathlon as she established personal records in the shot put (7.73 meters), javelin (19.13 meters) and the 800 meter run (2:25.57).

Junior Eric Graves posted one of the fastest times in school history in the 5000 meter run as he set a new personal record of 15:04.64.

The men’s 4x100 meter relay finished fifth in their heat with a time of 42.82 as the Gulls ran against the University of Kentucky and Texas Christian University. The 4x400 meter relay team finished second in their heat with a time of 3:26.09.

The Sea Gulls will host the Mason-Dixon Championships this weekend (May 4 and 5).
