sixth at NCAA national track and field championships Freshman Delannie Spriggs finished sixth in Saturday's final of the men's 100 meter dash as he ran a time of 10.88. Spriggs was the only freshman in the final. Buffalo State junior Willie Hordge won the event with a time of 10.56. In Friday afternoon's preliminaries Spriggs finished second in the third heat with a time of 10.59 which was the fourth fastest time overall. Capital Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year Victoria Lawson finished sixth in the women's 400 meter dash with a time of 55.89 in Saturday's final. Sophomore Amanda Donath from host Wisconsin Oshkosh won the event with a time of 54.68. In Friday's preliminaries Lawson finished third in the first heat with a time of 56.44. Sophomore Kelly Sullivan finished in 16th place in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:18.98 which was over a minute behind the first place finisher Shauneen Garrahan from Amherst who's time of 10:13.33 set a new NCAA championship record. She won her second career national steeplechase championship. Sophomore Bobby Price finished 18th in the men’s high jump as he cleared just under six feet, three inches (6-2.75).
