Sea Gulls remain perfect in conference
WASHINGTON, D.C. -
The Salisbury University men's basketball team won its third straight Capital Athletic Conference game with a 74-60 road victory over Gallaudet University on Saturday afternoon.

Salisbury (7-2, 3-0 CAC) will remain atop the conference standings with its unblemished record.

The Sea Gull backcourt of seniors Ray Williams (19 points) and Segun Odumeru (17 points) combined for half of Salisbury’s output against the Bison.

Gallaudet (1-7, 0-3 CAC) was paced by Sekoe White who recorded the only double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jonathan Valencia (12 points) was the other Bison in double figures.

The two teams went back and forth in the first half as Gallaudet held the lead for the majority of the half. SU’s Devin Jones (10 points) drained a three-pointer with a minute before the break to send the Sea Gulls into the locker room up one, 33-32.

In the second half, Salisbury shot 54 percent from the field as the Gulls pulled away from the Bison down the stretch.

The Sea Gulls are now off for three weeks before they return the court on January 4, 2007 for a non-conference home game against Eastern Shore rival Washington College. The game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. tip at the Maggs Center.
