Gulls Bounce Back with 1-0 Victory
SALEM, Va. - The Salisbury University men’s soccer team traveled to Roanoke College on Saturday to earn its eighth win of the season, 1-0.

SU Senior midfielder Wijy Jones broke the tie with his fifth goal of the season in 59th minute.

The Sea Gulls (8-3-1) recorded their fifth shut out of the year behind goalie Scott McGuire (four saves). The senior improved his record in goal to 6-2-1.

Salisbury snapped a Roanoke (5-6-1) three-game win streak. The Maroons suffered a fourth home loss on the year but goalie Austin Rose was solid stopping eight shots.

The Gulls have now won five straight over the Maroons dating back to ’02.

Salisbury will be back in action on the road Wednesday, October 18, at 7 p.m. taking on Christopher Newport.
