Men
and Women finish second at DeSales Invitational
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The
Salisbury University men’s and women’s cross country teams took home second
place honors at the DeSales Invitational. The meet consisted of 48 total teams,
25 in the women’s field and 23 in the men’s.
The Sea Gull women finished only 10 points behind Elizabethtown, and had a strong showing from the Sullivan twins. Glenna Sullivan finished second overall with a time of 24:06 and Kelly Sullivan finished just behind her in fourth place with a time of 24:28.
Zuzka O’Zwoldike finished with a time of 25:38, good enough to finish 22nd, and Jenn Bulger and Amanda Hill finished with times of 26:03 and 26:21 to finish 35th and 42nd, respectively.
On the men’s side of things, three Sea Gulls finished in the top 10 to pace Salisbury to a second place finish. Buck Stokes clocked a time of 26:56 to finish in 5th place, while Will Murdoch was only three seconds off Stokes pace, finishing in the 6th place with a time of 26:59. Eric Graves finished in 8th place with a time of 27:07.
Josh Michael and Zach Dickerson finished with times of 27:48 and 27:56, respectively, good enough for 20th and 24th place.
The Sea Gulls will have one more meet before the Capital Athletic Conference championships begin on November 4. Next Saturday, October 21, Salisbury will travel to Elizabethtown, Pa. to participate in the Elizabethtown Invitational.
