SU win streak snapped with 5-1 loss
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Salisbury University baseball team saw its 13-game winning streak snapped when they dropped a Capital Athletic Conference road game against Catholic University, 5-1.

Salisbury (13-2, 1-1 CAC) gave up a pair of runs in the third and fourth innings to go down 4-0.  The Sea Gulls scored their only run in the fifth inning when senior Andrew Jensen singled home leftfielder Randy Boyle. Jensen recorded three of Salisbury’s seven hits to extend his hitting streak to 15 games on the season.

Senior Dan Oleynik (4-1) earned his first loss of the season in 5.2 innings of work and gave up three hits and four runs.

Catholic (6-6, 1-1 CAC) was led by catcher Patrick Quintana who went 1-for-3 at the dish with three RBI and one homerun. CUA also received two RBI from second baseman Matthew Rosner.

With the loss Salisbury will split the season series with Catholic who they beat on March 10, 12-2, in their first meeting.

SU will take a 13-2 mark down to Florida for five games as they take on
Benedictine, U.S. Coast Guard, Amherst, St. Thomas (Minn.) and Hillsdale in a four day span over Spring Break in Fort Meyers.
