Taylyn Fuhrman

BFA - graphic design

I have been described as an old soul; a 60-year-old woman trapped in a 22-year-old body (thank goodness it isn’t the other way around..). I believe baked goods and conversation can cure any grievance. These tendencies don’t just lead me to the antique stores on weekends, but also strongly influence my creative aesthetic because I love a classic approach to good design. I join the standards and humility of the past to this modern era. I want you to smile when you see my work. My aim is that you pick it up, read it, smell it, taste it, buy it, or whatever verb applies. I want you to relate and engage with what you see because of how it makes you feel. You may not realize exactly what goes into all of my pieces, but I hope you will see how much time and effort I give to even the smallest details. As a designer, and even a person in general, I have a genuine love for creativity. It is in every aspect of my life, from what products I choose to buy, to what I create. While ‘laxidasical’ has a home in my vocabulary, it will never be used to describe my work. I enjoy the sheer research and organization of good design where I can be meticulous and give everything a place, purpose and function. It is my job to find that balance, and I take the responsibility very seriously. Our world is one of ever-changing values and priorities but I promise to be clear, concise and keep craftsmanship and communication prevalent in everything I do.
