BFA - graphic design

An artist is not paid for his labor but for his vision,” says artist James Whistler. As a graphic designer, my vision and creativity lies in how I solve a communication problem. I believe in using a clean, and modern approach when designing. Ideas are more powerful and immediately recognized when designed this way. I also believe successful design can easily cross media boundaries from web to print to broadcasts and more. With experience designing in all areas, I can successfully communicate a vision or message to the appropriate audience. In order to successfully communicate to a specific audience I go through a specific design process. Before I start designing, I do a substantial amount of research to make sure all my ideas will be clear to the viewer. The next few steps include testing and retesting, by showing many different variations and concepts to the specific audience to make sure the final piece is clearly communicated. Every color, shape, and typeface has a specific meaning behind what is originally seen. With my experience in the graphic design world, I know these aspects could change the meaning of any design. This is why research is so important for me as a designer. In my work, I want to always communicate a clear message no matter who the viewer is.
