Joshua Aspril

BFA - graphic design

In my eyes, the same way to approach a project is the same way to approach playing a sport. I have a goal and draw up a game plan no matter what the work entails. Through my research, past experiences, references, and my imagination, I react to the materials in front of me. Because no design process is ever perfectly projected, it is important to adjust to the game and build off of what is working. In both the art and sports scene, I strive to please my audience and help my teammates with my creative ideas and unique, crisp designs. With use of thick line and exuberant colors that work harmoniously within my many vector illustrations, the viewer can conclude that I have aspired to produce visually exciting and professional work. As I especially keep up with the sports world daily, I am confident that my contemporary style is evident and my knowledge of athletes speaks volumes through my work. I view illustration as a cutting edge solution to grab the viewers’ attention as well as a design element that successfully complements the advantages of photography and typography. The manner in which an athlete puts his heart and soul into what he does on the field is the way I take on design-related projects. Individual games and projects may come to an end, but a buzzer will never sound in regards to my bold, colorful and illustrative approach to the arts.
