BFA - graphic design

Art for me has always been an outlet for my emotions, ideas, and dreams. I’ve always been a little different and art was one way I learned to embrace and value my uniqueness. Originality is what I strive for in my life and in my work. I am not as interested in art or design that that is over used or looks too processed. Old fashioned and hand done work has always interested me because it’s a piece of someone’s history; something that they cared enough about to make by hand. I am very versatile, working in many different mediums and styles to create a desired form.

When I work for myself or a client, each piece is catered around the message that needs to be conveyed, how to best represent the identity of my client and what will be eye catching and appealing to the viewer demographic using different styles and mediums. I want my designs to attract viewers with my creative use of media and efficient layouts. I want the art I do for myself to say, “This is a part of me” and the art I do for clients to say for them, “This is who we are”. I want the viewer to feel connected to the art, as well as who and what the art is for. If the viewer understands the feeling and message that I am striving to convey then I have succeeded as a designer and artist.
