BFA - graphic design

In my work, I try to focus most of my effort on being original. True originality is hard to come by in modern society – a society where there is access to an almost unlimited number of resources. Every person’s vision is influenced in many ways by the outside world and the past. To concentrate on my personal experience and be as original as possible is one of my main artistic goals; I strive to create pieces of work that I am deeply connected to, and work that I will be satisfied with in the end. Exploring new mediums is an important part of my art and I enjoy finding the many different possibilities for artistic expression. I want to be able to combine different elements together to make my design an experience, instead of just a static picture on a wall. I believe that an effective work of art is able to capture the viewer’s attention and envelop their mind in only a matter of seconds. This is an important idea in all facets of the art world, from commercial graphic art to traditional painting. The notion that, no matter what, every individual will establish his or her own connection to an artwork will never fade over time. Although much of my work is digital, it is still important to show my own brush or pen strokes in order to make any piece unique to myself. In my opinion, a work of art loses it’s personal touch when it is created only using a computer, which is why I prefer to include hand-drawn illustration in most of my digital works.
