Every great
thinker is a mystery and a puzzle to his contemporaries. Auguste
Rodin was not only the greatest sculptor since Michelangelo,
he was also the greatest thinker in three dimensions, perhaps
since the prehistoric age when men first began to think it possible
to shape in stone the presentment of living things.
No sculptor has affected the thought of 20th
century man more than Rodin. Many of the important sculptors
of the early 20th century worked for, studied with, or were inspired
by Rodin. Rodin's sculptures are spread throughout the world.
Pierri de Wissant is located in the walkway connecting the Guerrieri
University Center and the Commons.
