Cornus florida L. is a small deciduous tree native to the eastern United States. Throughout much of its range, this species is threatened by the fungal pathogen Discula destructiva Redlin. (dogwood anthracnose). Death of infected trees usually ocurrs one to three years after infection. Shown is Cornus florida 'Floribunda'.
