MAJOR FIELD OF STUDY: Psychology

CURRENT EMPLOYER: DSBJ Solutions Inc.

CURRENT OCCUPATION: Operations Manager

DESCRIBE YOUR CAREER PATH:

Diverse is the only way to describe my career path. As part of my graduate studies, I completed an internship at Salisbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. At the completion of my internship, I was offered a job at Mallard Bay Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, which was owned by Salisbury's parent company. I worked as an Activity Director and Volunteer Coordinator for Mallard Bay in Cambridge for 10 years. After 10 years, I decided to pursue a different career path and a shorter daily commute. I was hired as a customer service representative for Filtronic Comtek Inc. in Salisbury. My graduate degree helped ease the transition to a new industry by providing me the tools to work with a wide range of people. I am fascinated by the manufacturing environment and all it's moving parts. Over time and three companies, my responsibilities have expanded from inside sales, forecasting, shipping, production planning and supervision, to manufacturing operations. In 2015, I had the opportunity to move to Suzhou, China and hold the position of Global Sales and Asian Operations Manager for Prism Microwave Inc. The experience of living and working abroad laid the foundation for my new position as Operations Manager for DSBJ Solutions Inc. in Coppell, TX. We are a precision machining and manufacturing facility established to support the US customer base for our parent company Suzhou Dongshan Precision Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU LEARNED WHILE ATTENDING SALISBURY UNIVERSITY:
Perseverance; it is not easy working full time and attending graduate school.

BEST COLLEGE MEMORY:
As a student, learning how to play racquetball with one of my fellow students before class. As an alumni, watching the 2016 Men's Lacrosse team road to the National Championship.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE SALISBURY UNIVERSITY?
I choose Salisbury for the field of study, flexibility and proximity to my home.

IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE SALISBURY UNIVERSITY IN THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE AND WHY?
Opportunity, growth, unexpected. My experience at Salisbury provided a foundation for a career path which has taken me around the world.

FAVORITE VACATION SPOT AND WHY?
Costa Rica. I spent a week in the rain forest bird watching and loved every minute. It is a beautiful country.

GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT:
My promotion to Global Sales and Asian Operations Manager for Prism Microwave Inc. would be my greatest accomplishment. As such, I lived in Suzhou, China for a year and successfully directed our global manufacturing operation while coordinating customer shipments across three continents.

WHAT IS SOMETHING PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU?
I once served a subpoena to the Mayor of Cambridge, MD.

HOBBIES/OTHER INTERESTS:
Travel, photography, cycling, bird watching, swimming, wine tasting
