Seidel School Education Programs Earn National Reaccreditation  
Salisbury University's roots began as a Maryland State Normal School created to educate teachers. Now, nearly nine decades later, the Samuel W. and Marilyn C. Seidel NCATE
School of Education and Professional Studies has earned the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Educations (NCATE) highest honor: national reaccreditation.

Remember Caruthers Hall With a Commemorative Brick  
"This is a time ago," said Susan Purnell, examining photos of Caruthers Hall and the students who attended the campus elementary school it once housed. "A long time ago," added Ruth Bennett, who taught Purnell in kindergarten and second grade at the school in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
 
Caruthers Hall was a landmark on Salisbury University's campus for nearly 60 years. As a demonstration school from 1955-1969, hundreds of students from the community walked through its doors, greeted by Principal Pauline Riall and teachers including Bennett. Both worked at the school the entire time it was open in Caruthers.

Homecoming/Family Weekend  
Homecoming/Family Weekend will be held on SU's campus the weekend of October 17-19. Classes ending with 4s and 9s will celebrate their reunions. Events will be held for various affinity programs such as alumni who participated in the Acadia outdoor orientation program, geography graduates, biology graduates, former members of the Alpha Homecoming/Family Weekend
Kappa Alpha sorority and SU's first ever "All Greek" reunion. If you are interested in assisting in planning an event for your class, club or sport, please contact the Alumni Office at 410-543-6042 or alumni@salisbury.edu. From lectures, art exhibits, athletic games, food and activities for the children, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
