Current Students - Program Planning
Program Planning is the time
when current students meet with their assigned
advisor to plan their academic course schedule for the following
semester. Program Planning takes place mid-semester of both Fall
and Spring semester. Be sure to pay attention to posted
information around campus during these time periods. See the advising calendar for
program planning dates and details.
During program planning, SU students
are responsible for making an appointment with their assigned
advisor and arriving to the appointment prepared and on-time.
NOTE: Certain majors
(depending on the School) have different Program Planning
practices so it is important to follow the procedures outlined
by your academic department based on your major:
Perdue
School of Business - Group Advising sessions.
Seidel
School of Education & Professional Studies - Team Advising
sessions (for Elementary Education, Early Childhood, and
Exercise Science majors).
Before meeting with their advisor,
students need to log into
Gull Net,
access their Student Center and review their academic
requirements
report to
note their remaining requirements and create a list of courses
in which they might enroll.
Students who attend their program planning
session will discuss their course selection and degree
progression with their assigned advisor. Their advisor will activate them to be eligible to register online via Gull Net
during their assigned pre-registration time period. Any
holds on student accounts will prevent them from being able to
register during pre-registration.
Students who fail to meet with their
advisor and do not get activated for pre-registration WILL NOT
be able to register during pre-registration. These
students must wait until the open enrollment period
(usually July or January) to register for classes.
