Assigned Advisor

Each student entering Salisbury University will be assigned a faculty advisor or professional advisor.  Your assigned advisor will:

  • Assist students in exploring areas of study.  Helping students choose the appropriate general education courses, selecting majors, minors, and tracks.
  • Have a minimum of five office hours each week.  These hours will be posted on your Faculty Advisor’s door or website.
  • Communicate degree requirements, curriculum, graduation requirements, and policies/procedures to students.
  • Listen to students and confidentially advise them.  Faculty Advisor’s will not speak with your parents about your academics.
  • Refer students to other offices when appropriate.
  • Provide accurate information to students.

Your advisor will be assigned by the first week of the semester when you start at Salisbury.  To learn who your advisor is, log into GullNet and through Self Service, enter your Student Center. You will see your advisor's name displayed within the right-hand column of your Student Center.  Use the SU Directory to find the office & contact information for your advisor.
