Graduate Training Application Process

The Counseling Center offers several internship positions to graduate students each year. Staff members work collaboratively to provide quality training and supervision for graduate students in a professional clinical setting. The Counseling Center operates Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with occasional programs offered in the evenings and on weekends.

Intern Responsibilities

Duties are assigned based on intern’s clinical and academic readiness.  The training program takes a developmental approach in assigning responsibilities.  The chart below includes an example of an intern schedule that fluctuates with the academic calendar year.

Interview Process

  1. Review of applications will begin immediately upon receipt.  Qualified applicants will be contacted for interviews.
  2. Interviews include meeting with the Training Coordinator individually as well as the Counseling Center staff and current interns.
  3. Applicants will be notified of final decisions regarding internship positions as soon as possible, following interviews and reference checks.
