Energy Mangement: Residence Hall Heating Policy
The following policy has been developed for use in the Residence Halls to help conserve energy while providing a comfortable environment for the residents.
For the heating season, (usually the 2nd week of October thru the end of April) heat will be available when the outside air temperature is below 50 degrees. When the outside air temperature is above 50 degrees the heating system will be turned off.
Note: The heating system may be activated at temperatures
other than stated depending upon room temperatures, forecasted outside
air temperatures, and current temperatures. If it is determined that
outside temperatures are mild enough to maintain room temperatures above
70 degrees without the heating system, the system will not be activated.
