To the Salisbury University Community:
During the Winter 2007 semester, the University introduced
eBilling through Sallie Mae Business Office Solutions. eBills
were also created for the Spring 2007 semester. Paper bills were
also mailed to all students for both semesters. During this
time, students were encouraged and recommended to access the
eBilling website and create their eBilling account - the only
way that one could subsequently access their eBill.
All this was done with the intention of going exclusively to
eBills beginning with the Summer I session.
However as of 4/2/07, only 1638 students have created their
eBilling account. This represents about 22% of enrolled
students. With the Summer sessions fast approaching, this
percentage is too low to comfortably move into an all-eBill
environment. Given the lukewarm embrace of eBilling at this
time, the University will make eBilling an opt-in
program. If students would prefer an eBill,
simply access the eBilling website at
(https://bosebill.salliemae.com/NetPay/Templates/410/frameset.html)
and go through the new user sign-up process. The student can
also invite others (e.g., parents) to access the student's bill
for the purposes of payment and review.
For those 1638 students and 273 other payers (e.g., parents,
spouses, etc.) who already enrolled in eBilling under the
assumption that eBilling was required, you have the
opportunity to opt back to the paper bill. If you wish to
discontinue receiving eBills, please email this desire to
cashiers@salisbury.edu
and we will remove you from the eBilling program.
The decision between paper and eBills is a mutually exclusive
one. If the student chooses to receive a paper bill, the student
will receive one paper bill; no eBills will be sent to the
student or other payers. If the student chooses to receive
eBills, no paper bills will be sent but we can send eBills to
the other payers.
To publicize this change and the ability to opt out of
eBills, a separate email will be sent to the 1911 people who
have already enrolled. It is important to note that it is the
student's decision to opt for paper or eBills. If the
student opts for a paper bill and a parent already had created
an eBilling account, the University will deactivate the account
and no longer send eBills to it.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have or will
cause. Our continuing goal is to deliver services to students in
the most efficient, effective and economical manner.
If you have any questions about eBilling, please contact
the Cashier's Office at
cashiers@salisbury.edu or 410-543-6060.
