JANUARY
Friday 31th 6-7pm – Peer Mentor Interest Meeting
TRiO will host an interest meeting for students that would like to be a peer mentor with the program.  Students will learn about qualifications and responsibilities.  GUC 228 (TRiO Office)

 

FEBRUARY   

Thursday 6th 6-7pm – FAFSA/Financial Aid/Scholarships*

Come and learn everything you need to know about finding scholarships and grants.  Learn more about filling out your FAFSA to avoid mistakes and maximize your financial aid award.   Pocomoke room 234

 Thursday 20th 4-7 pm Career Readiness Workshop*

Knowing the Job Fair is around the corner, Career Services wants to help you be ready! Stop in and get your resume polished and get some hints about how to approach employers at the Fair.  We will help you craft a 1 minute elevator pitch and assist you in selecting the employers that you will talk to at the job fair.  Let’s get ready to start your career or internship.   Nanticoke room A

 Tuesday 25th 4-6pm Establishing Liaisons & Advocating for Students**

Mentors will learn about how you can help your mentees by creating connections with faculty and staff on campus and becoming an advocate for your mentees. All TRiO participants are welcome. Pocomoke Room GUC 234

 Thursday 27th 5-6:30pm Transition from Classroom to Career***

Now that you have your resume ready and your classroom knowledge, it’s time to learn how to transition into a successful career.  Join TRiO as we host a seminar with Dr. Charles Addams from Bowie State University who will talk about life after college and the essential work skills that every student should have.   Pocomoke room 234

Tuesday 4th 6:30-8:30pm – Preparation for Academic Advisement*

TRiO will review dates and deadlines for undergraduate advising. Students will be given tips and strategies on how to prepare for their advisement session and assistance with registration for summer and fall courses.  Pocomoke room 234
